Stephen Bassett is a political activist and a leading advocate for open, transparent government. Since 1996 he has been working to end a government imposed truth embargo on formal acknowledgement of an extraterrestrial presence engaging the human race. He is the executive director of the Paradigm Research Group (PRG) which has sponsored many projects including: the Extraterrestrial Phenomena Political Action Committee (X-PPAC), Lobbyist Registration with the U. S. Congress, Exopolitics World Network, Exopolitics United States Network, Million Fax on Washington, X-Conferences (2004-2010), World Disclosure Day, Disclosure Petition Initiative (We the People), Media Watch, speaking tours of Europe and Australia, and the PRG Video Channel.
From April 29 to May 3, 2013 Paradigm Research Group produced its most ambitious project - the Citizen Hearing on Disclosure. Forty witnesses from ten countries were brought to the National Press Club in Washington, DC. Researchers, activist and military/agency persons of high rank and station testified for thirty hours over five day before six former members of the U. S. Congress regarding events and evidence supporting the extraterrestrial explanation for a range of unexplained phenomena.
