Look dead center just above the hills in the background
The snap, taken recently by a visitor to the town, shows the aircraft seemingly flying over the sea.
The photographer told the Scarborough News: “When I have looked through the pictures yesterday I have noticed that there is something in the sky.
“At the time I took the picture there was nothing in the sky and no low flying aircraft.”
And Filey ufologist Russ Kellett said he’s been left “puzzled” by the unexplained flying object.
“If you look down, there’s no shadow in the water, which must mean that it’s further back than where it appears to be,” said Mr Kellett, who has claimed the area is a “hotbed” for UFO sightings.
“If that’s the case, whatever it is must be a fair size.
“Whatever it is, it’s certainly nothing like a Chinese lantern.”
